Sept 13 and 14. What an honor to be invited to play on this session.Joe Rosenberg will be recording his JRQ after our China tour. Sept 25 and 26. He hopes that these recordings will result in a Black Saint release. Tried some different things with the drums, and did some rhodes overdubs, and even full band overdubs. It's gonna be a nice record...Zhu FangQiong in June.
henna and fangqiong David Wong gave me some of Zhu FangQiong's tracks to check out earlier this spring. I didn't listen to them for a long time, and David kept asking me if I had heard them. Finally I gave them a spin, and I was blown away by Zhu's singing and earthy productions. He writes his own songs with the Shangxi string instrument Dam Bou. I guess you could call it original folk music. Anyway, as soon as I heard that stuff, I wanted to record him. We did a week in the studio from June 14. Some of the stuff was him improvising and me following along. Once we got a groove going, he would start singing. We got several miles of that stuff, and we also recorded a few of his songs, which were deceptively simple, and fascinating rhythmically. To be continued later on...

But I've been so busy with performances and the associated administrative work that I haven't been able to finish much yet. I'll get there, though.
